Thyroid Energy Issues & Reflexology: Part 2 - Colour reflexology
Colour Reflexology
An Energy Approach to Energy Conversion issues Hypothyroidism is all about how our body is using energy.
It is fundamentally a dysfunction of our biological ability to convert energy from our food into our cells.
Colour and Reflexology are two means of transferring energy into and through our system. They are perfect solutions to addressing issues of energy conversion itself within the body.
Reflexology is an ancient zone therapy that works via the body's energy systems, whether via the zones or the subtler energy systems, such as the meridians or other means, to release blocked areas of energy that correlate to the reflexes within the hands and feet.
These reflexes correspond to different organs and areas of the body, and assist the body in identifying blockages and then directing energy flow into those areas in order to release and dispel those blockages.
Colour is a powerful addition to this system, as it directs very specific energy frequencies through the reflex points in order to target the energy frequency of the blockage.
In my experience this means that the person receiving the colour reflexology session does not necessarily have to experience the 'painful' reflex that is often associated with clinical reflexology (as opposed to foot massage). It also often means that the blockage is more deeply cleared, reducing the re-emergence of the inhibited energy flow or its intensity.
The other beautiful aspect of using colour with reflexology is that it gives us a small window of correlating energy associations that might be applicable to some aspect of the energy blockage itself.
By this I mean that the blockage within the biological field initially starts on an energetic level, and as such can be traced as connecting through to our thoughts, feelings and past events. Colour can give an additional insight into the cause of the energy blockages, which can be discussed as part of the session itself.
For example, if the colour indicated for use is a deep blue, then we might discuss where the client feels that they have a need to make more space in their life, or where they are feeling restricted or 'enclosed' in some way.
Colour Reflexology Sessions can combine a couple of different methods of assessment.
An initial foot reflexology chart can be made before the session begins, which will identify key areas and colour relationships throughout the energy system and give us a purely colour based therapy session to work through.
Alternatively, we can access the blockages through a reflexology session firstly, and then decide if and when to apply colour at particular points during the session itself. Below is a short video showing this process. The tools that I like to use when working this way, are the 'Colour Mirrors' - a set of beautiful coloured bottles that, whilst beautiful to look at, are also energetically powerful. Though this may seem a strange possibility for many people, those who are intuitively drawn to work with colour, and have worked with the colour system are always commenting on how powerful it is, and how they can 'feel' the energy moving when using it!
Both of these applications use a colour reflexology torch, which consists of a clear quartz crystal placed at the head of a torch that uses colour filters to change the colour rays being used. You can see this tool in the video below.
These colour therapy concepts for working with the feet have been created through the work of people like Peter Mandel (ColourPuncture) and Pauline Wills, who have developed different systems to work with colour through the reflexes of the feet. You can find out more about each of these by reading their books.
Below is a video of a typical Colour Reflexology Session.
This client was working on a hip issue, rather than thyroid issue, but the video demonstrates the essence of a colour reflexology session, and how powerful the effect is after treatment.
